Into the groove

It's time that I take my fuck*** hands from my ass and start bloging again. I think I just like, lost myself a little bit. Just have so much to think about right now, that I don't have the energy to sit down and start writing about fashion. I want to hold a high-fashion standard on my blog, not like other fake "fashion-bloggers" who writes about what they bought yesterday and what they think is pretty. I want to write good things about designers who deserve it, and criticize others ... not just shit!

So, I'm officially starting with my blog again ...

Saw the movie "Desperately seeking Susan" with Madonna today and I kind of enjoyed it. Loved the 80s style and ofc Madonna herself! That kind of trash-fashion is hot on right person. A lot of jewellery, big hair, red lips, spooky eyes. What else? Madonna rocked that time, it was her golden age!

Another thing I saw today, was that VERY big, and now, I'm not exaggerating, it was huge. Paris Vogue october issue! Just wanted to steal it from my friend, but what about the morality? I know it was their 90 anniversary, but that issue is really huuuge, and I have too buy it now! Gotta find it! I will hunt tomorrow for that issue, and I'm gonna have it! Really neeed it, there is so much inspiration in there, and lately, I have felt that I've lost all my inspiration. So it's a big must for me!

Rodarte SS11

I really love Rodarte, but unfortunately the SS11 collection disappointed me a lot! You know guys that I love when designers want to create something abnormal, something provocatative. Kate and Laura are always provocative in their collections, but you know, you don't want to look like a wooden panel, even if you want to be provocative.

Kate and Laura has taken their inspiration from the natural landscape of North California. Their color pallet is based on the natural landscape of North California. It is a lot of brown, white, black, yellow, blue, grey, gold and some shade of light khaki. I really adore the color pallet because of its contents of base colors.

If I describe the collection with six words, it would be 50% crap and 50% hotness! I mean who wants to look like a wooden floor panel? Tell me! It's like, "Hi, can you please walk on me?". And what I thought was really urrrgggghhh *ERROR*, were those two split dresses/top and skirt(?) with the wooden panel prints in dark brown. What were they thinking of? Please, no one, and now I mean exactly no one would wear that erhm what its really called.

On the other hand, the collection contained a lot of hot dresses with some kind of bohemian style. The draping is my favourite when it comes to Rodarte. I love how they drape the fabrics so it looks fabulous and almost like an Ancient Greek. The printing is flawless with some kind of blue porcelain prints. It makes the whole look like an expensive porcelain doll.

The shoes are to die for ... seriously! Especially the wedges! Love the massive wood and the flower prints. The shoes were definitely the highlight of the show!

The last three pieces are sent from above. That is pure, really pure love!

Fashion is all about inspiration, dreams, love and fantasy. But at the same time its all about what you would wear and not. You have to step forward and criticize what you don't like. You have to make a statement, give your opinoins. Bad or good, it doesn't matter! Just make your voice heard!

Marc Jacob SS 2011

(Source: Vogue.com)

I wish
that I someday meet Marcie and tell him how good and creative he is. I wish that I someday sit front-row at his shows while breathing in all creativity he puts in the collection. I wish that I someday can (this will probably never happen) critize his collection.

In a book, called Fashion-ology: An Introduction to Fashion Studies by Yuniya Kawamura, that I'm reading right now, I read that "now is nostalgia" and that quotation hit me when I saw Marcies SS 2011 collection. We're almost back in the seventies with a lot of colors - something who's very odd when it comes to Marcie.

As you can see, Marc is influenced by the seventies fashion and trends, with long dresses, hats, big sunglasses, big hair, and heavy make-up, cool prints and big fabric flowers as accessories. What I really love is that there is a that he has created a collection with all kind of clothes, there is dresses, jumpsuits, trenchcoats, coats, hats, pants, jackets, shorts, bikini, shortdresses, tops, skirts etc, and I love that. There are plenty of things to choose from the collection.

He has used a lot chiffong in this collection, alomst every single dress in that collection is made of chffong. But it's not odd to use chiffong on dresses when you want them to move perfectly.

His jumpsuits in this collection are to die for. It's pure love and my favorite one is the draped on with two pockets in pink. It's crazineess how beautiful it really is, and the fit is flawless!

But I most admit to you guys that my absolute favorite creation from this collection is the big pink trenchcoat with big flounces on the top of it that the model Hannah Holman is wearing. That's art for me, and I can sit and stare on it without getting bored. I can sit and analyze it until there's nothing to analyze anymore.

I'm born this way

In a dress by the beloved Alexander McQueen on the white carpet. The shoes is from McQueen as well, but from the SS2010 collection.
In a meat dress by Franc Fernandez, this dress started a lot of debates around the world.
Isn't she gorgeous? Beautiful? That's more of statements and not questions! She's good, really good and that's why I love this fu**ing woman! I love her because of her music, her personality, her Alejandro, her opinions, her avant-gardish style, her Alexander McQueen dresses and shoes, her insanity, etc...

Yesterdays VMAs was crazzzyyy as hell ... GaGa, Ms GaGa won 8 prices out of 13 nominations.
She won the price for:

-Video of the Year - "Bad Romance"
-Best Pop Video - "Bad Romance"
-Best Female Video - "Bad Romance"
-Best Collaboration - "Telephone" feat. Beyonce
-Best Dance Video - "Bad Romance"
-Best Choreography - "Bad Romance"
-Best Direction - "Bad Romance"
-Best Editing - "Bad Romance"

Gaga announced the title of her new album, and it's called "Born this way" which is a great title for Gaga because of her personality, her gaysupport and her opinions about being yourself no matter what.

She also appeared at Ellen Degeneres show after the VMAs dressed in the meat dress again talking about her work, the meatdress and the new cause that Lady Gaga is fighting for ... to break the injustice in the military. Gaypeople have no rights to be in the military because of their sexuality in America, and that's what Gaga is fighting for right now. She believes in equality and justice! What a woman ha? Yeah, I've meet her!

New York Fashion Week SS2011

I have totally forgot to tell you guys that NY Fashion Week has already begun. Actually, today is the third day for NYFW and many designers, as Richie Rich, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Christian Siriano etc, has already shown their collections. So far I'm pretty happy with what they have come up with and that's a good sign for SS season. Marc Jacob (one of my favourit designer *gaah*) is showing on Monday and Rodarte on Thursday. The team or should I say sisters behind Rodarte has great story about how their brand made it to top of the designermountain. When I read the story, I fell in love with Laura and Kate Mulleavy. I really love the brand Rodarte, it's always so fierce! There is five days left of NYFW, but I'm looking forward for Paris Fashion Week and one good reason for that is the Alexander McQueen show. I can't barely wait!!!!! I'm curious to know what Sarah Burton comes up with for SS2011.

H&M + Lanvin = True love

I apologise for my abcense here, but these days has been very busy with work and studies. Yeah, I'm actually studying right now at Stockholms University. It's something I want to study and so far all I can say is that I love it! I have a huge pile of books on my desk right now ... it's very scary that we have to read so much, but at the same time, it's interesting.

I know that you all guys know about the new collaboration between H&M and Lanvin. This is gonna be huge and I'm just loving the fact that Alber Elbaz is going to design for the Swedish H&M! I love H&M and I love Lanvin, so it can't get any better than this! Hehe ...

I can't wait to see the pieces Alber designs. But what scares me is that it can just fall flat or it can be gorgeous as hell! You can guess who's gonna shop till he drops in november?!?! *not me*!

I have to sleep right now, see ya tomorrow bitches!

A new brown leather notebook

My new notebook arrived with the letters today. It's a brown leather notebook with oldschool paper. I loved the smell who came out of the package, it really smelled real leather. This notebook is from a web-based giftshop based in the UK called LUMA. They have really nice things you can't find in a real store for good prices. I payed 36 pounds for this notebook, which is a good price for its quality.

I'm not writing any crap or shit in this notebook. In this book, I'll write my career ideas, notes and things thats coming up in my mind. I'll take this notebook with me on special occasions.

You can visit the giftshop here: LUMA

Daoud goes bananas because of Rachel Zoe

Sorry for the lack of updates this week, but I've been very busy with work and some meetings with the counselor at Stockholm University. Now I'm back on track ... again ..., and I'm gonna update you guys all the time. Even when I go to the toilet ... that's a big nono in the fashion industry!

Anyway, I attended a wedding today, and listen, when it comes to assyrian people, you get invited to someones wedding you even don't know, you can all guess if I knew the couple who got married today ... the answer is ofcourse no!

But I love weddings, because of the dance, the great food and the great drinks and it's all for free! I also love to see the big fashion nonos and the big fashion yesyes! Gorgeous dresses and the less gorgeous dresses. Less is definitely more, but some girls or should I say women don't understand that and they end up looking like trashy chics*.

My outfit of the day was this, a classic black suit with a white and black striped shirt and a small black tie. I didn't want to push it all the way, because of the assyrian people. A lot of crap comes out of their mouth, sorry people, but that's the truth, isn't it?

Another thing, I'll bet you know Rachel Zoe! The celebrity stylist? The fashionista? The girl with a gorgeous wardrobe? I fell in love with her this week. I've known her since 2008, not personally, but through the television ... "The Rachel Zoe Project". Err ... but I like watched her realityshow for real this week, and she is so bananasfucking crazyy and I love her. I admire her for her work, her ambition and her sense of style. I admire her for her easy-to-love personality and her cute little face. I admire her for being a working hard woman and the shopaholic she is. If you've not watched the show yet, watch it! That's an order from me!

Nakkna SS2011

Ok guys, you know what? I had a great day today, and I swear that tomorrow will be better. I'm soo tired that I want to go too sleep, but I have to write about todays fashionshows.

I don't think that I'm the only one who got really bad photos from this show. Not because of the camera, it was because of the fake fog they used. You even couldn't see the first three pieces of the collection, but I'm gonna stop complain now because I loved what I saw on the runway. As I wrote in the other post, they used a dark color pallet with the basic colors. You saw a lot of grey, different shades of blue, beige, black and white. It was a very wide collection, and with wide I mean that you could see a lot of wearable clothes as pants, short/long/cocktail dresses, hoodies, t-shirts, blazeers, capes and shirts. But in the end I was really touched by the longdresses from Nakkna. They were, and I swear I don't lie to you guys, gorgeousbeautifulprettyhotfierce, whatever you want to call it. The whole collection was very beautifully made and not only with its colors and prints, the shapes were great!

Btw, you know what I think about the models? First of all, the major, the greatest, the biggest and the most important think on the runway is the walk, and if a model can't walk, she/he shouldn't do catwalks and be runway models at all. There was this little poor girl who walked for two shows, and she barely could walk. When she came out, I was shocked at first and then embarresed and then I started too feel sorry for this girl. Everybode were looking, and some even started to laugh because of her dummyflummy walk. She walked for both Nakkna and Camilla Norrback. Why does a designer pick that kind of runway model? Pleaaasee tell mee!

Here is some pics from the show, remember the fog killed my photoskillz;
